Christopher Lua
For many, Pickleball is a hobby; for me, it was a lifeline. I discovered the sport during a battle with depression, and the court became the space where I rediscovered my purpose and mental clarity. This personal journey is why I am so passionate about coaching—I don't just teach shots; I help players find the same joy and resilience that the game gave to me.
As an IPTPA, NROC, and MOE-certified instructor, I bring a systematic and technical approach to the court. I specialize in breaking down complex mechanics into manageable steps, ensuring every student builds a foundation that is both safe and scalable.
My Coaching Focus:
The New Player Journey: I provide a patient, structured introduction for those picking up a paddle for the first time. I focus on core safety, rules, and the fundamental mechanics needed to move from a "first dink" to confident, fluid play.
The Aspiring Competitive Edge: For intermediate players looking to level up, I focus on "Smart Pickleball." By analyzing court positioning, shot selection, and tactical awareness, I help players move beyond social play and into a more disciplined, strategic game.
Continual Growth: I am currently pursuing Level 2 IPTPA and RPO certifications to ensure my students receive the most up-to-date professional mentorship. My goal is to bridge the gap between "just playing" and "playing with purpose."
What My Students Say:
"A very systematic approach yet adaptable to my pace and needs... He helped me with my game strategy, shot decisions, and the correct mindset."
"Detailed and technical in his explanation. He makes us understand exactly where our mistakes are and helps us correct them."
Whether you are looking for a reason to get active again or are ready to refine your tactical game, I offer the structured coaching needed to reach your next milestone.
